certainly not

There is a certain bittersweet (irritating?) experience involving getting fabrics in markets and a certain lack of knowledgeable answer which is probably feigned to seal a sale. Ask what a particular fabric fibre is made from, and you will get answers which will range from a suggestion for its uses ("it's for bridal gowns"), to the type of fabric ("duchess satin") and the colours it comes in ("white, purple and black"). Not exactly "real silk", "artificial silk", "polyester" or whatever other fibres such cloths come in.

The answer for pricing alright, though.

Must bring a fire lighter next time.

P.S. it was polyester, as suspected.
