(joy versus happiness)

I knew joy is different from happiness, but was at loss of words when asked to explain earlier, hence...

joy • noun 1 a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. 2 a cause of joy. 3 Brit. informal success or satisfaction.

happy • adjective (happier, happiest) 1 feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. 2 willing to do something. 3 fortunate and convenient. 4 in combination informal inclined to use a specified thing excessively or at random. — DERIVATIVES happily adverb happiness noun.

(References happily taken out of here.)

Well, I hope this clarifies the notion that one can be joyful yet unhappy, as feeling great pleasure is not the same with showing pleasure or contentment. Also, it might not be the most convenient of tasks to get oneself into a feeling of great pleasure and happiness... especially when referring to the 'no pain no gain' school of thought.

It's up to you, though.

...beauty sleep time for me. Take care :))
