(tin of mackerel)

It's quite common for me to include a tin of mackerel (in tomato sauce) as part of a meal.

Last night I tried doing something similar. Same old own brand tin of mackerel in tomato sauce, same old way of heating it to make it more palatable. The only difference was, it was a 400g tin as opposed to a 180g tin.

Nevertheless, dinner took a long time to finish and by the morning every bit of me seems to ooze what smelled like dinner last night. Awww >__<

The Desperadö

My addiction to Suemitsu and the Suemith is here to stay; at the moment it seems to run for good.

(take my breath away)

It takes me a number of years to understand what my uncle said.

He once said that the house we lived in in Melbourne was "like a hotel". For me (back then), it was a... house. Sure it was a nice place to stay in but it was a house nevertheless - no butler services or indulgences of such nature.

Then straight I came from London.
The house seemed so.......... big. Roomy. Airy. Flooded with natural light.
(The beds and bathrooms are nice, too.)

Maybe it's just now I am learning to grasp the realities of renting out a place as a student, or in other words as anak kos. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my holiday as much as I can. Here's to two more weeks in this wonderful place.

Again I say rejoice

Early mornings are wonderful.

Anyway, have a Good Friday and happy Easter! Whether you go for a church service or consume easter eggs, there's no denying Jesus's death (even if you don't believe so) gives you a few days off at the very least... or so I hope xD

Have a great weekend!

Your Friend The Rat

I was person #3 to borrow CSM Southampton Row's Ratatouille DVD.
(Well, that was a random fact and wasn't my point for this post.)

The DVD came with a wealth of extra features, including this amusing little shortie, which were immensely enjoyable.

On a tangent, my contemporaries/friends born on 1984 - hereforth on this post referred to as 'rats' - some of them are born on Saturdays... a .75 second recall brought forth Aletta (whose two-dozenth birthday is celebrated today), the ever-diligent David Sakti (who is one of the few 'Davids' I know well), myself and Yaki. Only 1984 people who were born after 29 February will share the same 'birthday' day in the week for the rest of their lives, as those born before leap year day would sometimes have the one-day extra they will catch up on the following non-leap year.

As I'm such a chronological pattern freak, I'm going to list the dates on which 1984-ers were Saturday-born.

March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
April 7, 14, 21, 28
May 5, 12, 19, 26
June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
July 7, 14, 21, 28
August 4, 11, 18, 25
September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
October 6, 13, 20, 27
November 3, 10, 17, 24
December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

On a different note, there are a number of people (despite their year of birth) who tend to share the same birthday day with me. These are Tomoaki Ishii (he better still be alive) and DJ. Yes, they were born on the above-mentioned dates too.

As for my family, my sister's birthday day falls three days before - that's a Friday in 2008. This year, my dad's falls three days after (Thursday) whereas my mum's falls two days after. There are still a lot of relational formulations I can potentially do, but it's still easier to remember calendar dates over days-in-a-week differences. Well, sometimes it works counting however many weeks away, though.

Enjoy counting! ^__^

The Sun, the Stars and the Moon

In relation to mentioning my attendance at two friends' wedding a couple of days back, I oblige myself to give a visual report of the reception to ensure that it wasn't my sister who got married :D

It was a good party, and I managed to bring home a loot of white cymbidium orchids and calla lilies. Thanks to a flatmate's ingenious/scrimp-some-money advice, there was no need to buy fancy or minimalistic flower vases. Instead, I relied on what was left out of their 'wine-tasting event' (which I conveniently opted out from due to alcohol intolerance and dislike of red wine.) Pictures of said loot and corresponding makeshift flower display units are posted on myesight.

As I was walking to Learning Zone earlier today, Anne mentioned that we have lived without internet connection at home for nearly half a year. Whew! Now it is still possible to live without the internet, although it isn't the most convenient type of contemporary lifestyle.

Have I mentioned I broke my SE mobile's headphone jack cable? Well, I did (rather stupidly) a few weeks back, and have currently been forcing myself to adopt the Nokia phone for more diverse uses other than for calls and texts. I do so begrudgingly - not too good an attitude - because I don't want to spend money yet on purchasing a new jack cable (note the decision to delay consumption.) Sky pictures taken on the Nokia mobile, oddly enough, appear to have a more purplish tint compared to SE ones... another reason I nitpicked to stake against embracing the Nokia.

Anyway, enough faffing around... it's time to work.
