(compliance v mutiny)

On Thursday morning, there was a [rather unpleasant] news circulating that one of the tutors declared that all students in my degree's intake are to submit their illustration projects on Monday - a good seven weeks ahead of the original schedule. Needless to say, it was an unpopular (if not unreasonable) change.

...and how am I dealing with it?

Some of my classmates helplessly thrown themselves into the chaos that ensued.
A few vowed not to sleep over the weekend so that they could finish the illustrations.
As for me, I first tried to recruit other students to boycott the hand-in... and yet vacillate between compliance and mutiny.
(Oh, well...)

(spring...?)

It's April in the northern hemisphere... and in the past four days I've been in two hail rains.

We better pick up our acts before buying boots just before summer officially hits becomes a necessity. (A more predictable climate system helps me do my job better, too...)

Nevertheless, the trees managed to produce their spectacular spring blooms. Which reminds me again, a combination of plenty of sunlight with near-freezing temperatures produces the best amount of blooms relative to the amount of new leaves.

(bowl-painting)

As previously mentioned, here are the painted ceramic bowl's pictures!

(The drip is intentional.)
Right now, I'm just killing time in KLIA and will be catching the connecting flight in about an hour. Have a nice day! ^__^

(joy versus happiness)

I knew joy is different from happiness, but was at loss of words when asked to explain earlier, hence...

joy • noun 1 a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. 2 a cause of joy. 3 Brit. informal success or satisfaction.

happy • adjective (happier, happiest) 1 feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. 2 willing to do something. 3 fortunate and convenient. 4 in combination informal inclined to use a specified thing excessively or at random. — DERIVATIVES happily adverb happiness noun.

(References happily taken out of here.)

Well, I hope this clarifies the notion that one can be joyful yet unhappy, as feeling great pleasure is not the same with showing pleasure or contentment. Also, it might not be the most convenient of tasks to get oneself into a feeling of great pleasure and happiness... especially when referring to the 'no pain no gain' school of thought.

It's up to you, though.

...beauty sleep time for me. Take care :))

(back-to-back)

As I'm unpicking the $15 jacket I bought in Camberwell market (purposedly for destructive ends), my dad is reading over my blog. By the way, we sit back-to-back.

How nice and unimaginable ^__^

(declaring myself)

Recently, I received a note from a well-wisher.

There were only a few who knew the details of my current trip/holiday to Melbourne. However, I sensed that gossips have run wild and consequently I need to say something myself to give substance to what is really happening.

I'm in Melbourne for a school break
Having said that, it implies that this trip takes place during my Easter break. Yes, it's a four week-long recess from academic activities. No, I do not miss any classes in order to go to Melbourne. Yes, I intend to go back to London at the end of this trip.

I intend to pursue my chosen career
...which implies, in absence of a substantial industry internship offer, continuation of current studies in London. I am not keen on adding another year onto my studies by simply transferring to another country.

It's possible for me to finish my studies on time
Subject failure is not a prerequisite for me to be concerned over my academic performance, no?

Nothing funny is going on
For those who think that I'm pregnant/on drugs/.......... (insert extremely unacceptable social situation here), with all due respect this subject regretfully informs that thou art gravely mistaken.
Know me, doh.

Well, I guess that's all for now...
This afternoon I went to paint some ceramic - I might come back and do more as I find it fun and liberating. The ceramic bowl is now being baked, and I will post its pictures once I have picked it up next week.

Be well! ^__^
